Cristina Azuara & Elena OlascoagaCristina Azuara Fernandez is the operations manager for the MLP program. She has a degree in Computer Systems Engineering from ITESM. Azuara also holds a MA in Human Development by the Universidad Iberoamericana (2015). Her master’s dissertation explores how people who engage in personal growth and development processes change their financial behaviors.
Elena Olascoaga is the project manager for the MLP project. Elena holds an MA in Gender and Development from the institute of Development Studies, University of Sussex (UK). She has worked from 2010 to 2012 for UN Women sub regional office for Mexico, Cuba and Central America, mainly in women economic empowerment programs. |
Madhu ViswanathanMadhu Viswanathan is the Diane and Steven N. Miller Centennial Chair Professor in Business at the University of Illinois. His research focuses on marketplace literacy, poverty, and subsistence marketplaces behavior. He is the founder and director of the Subsistence Marketplaces Initiative and the Marketplace Literacy Project.

Luz Maria VelazquezLuz María Sánchez Velázquez serves to bring technical assistance in gender issues at the needs assessment phase. She graduated with an economics degree, holds a Masters in New Communication Technologies, and has a PhD in entrepreneurship and economic sciences (Cum Laude). She leads the Equality Committee at ITESM, and is an Associate Professor of Philosophy and Ethics Department at Campus Monterrey. She is member of Strengthening Women Leadership in Latin American HEIs and Society project, co-financed by the European Commission, ALFA III Programme.
Ron DuncanRon Duncan is a Community and Economic Development Educator for University of Illinois Extension, providing Marketplace Literacy Coverage for areas of Southern Illinois. Ron is a key founder and grant writer for MLP Mexico, helping to kick off initial teaching sessions, as well as provide experienced support for the growing program.

Angelina SorianoAngelina Soriano is the coordinator of strategic international relations for MLP - Mexico. Soriano graduated with honors from law school of Tec de Monterrey and was awarded as the most distinguished student of her class for her social leadership.
Besides her law degree she did a minor in Leadership for Social and Economic Development. Her work has focused on creating networks for young people to engage in social and economic development through effective mechanisms. Steven MorseSteven is a member of the Marketplace Literacy Outreach team at the University of Illinois. His work focuses on immersion within the subsistence marketplaces space through various digital and written formats.
